Funding Your DF-Direct Account via Bank Transfer: Another Simple Guide.

You may have seen our other article about linking your bank account via the DF-Direct platform. This guide provides an alternative where you can send money to your DF-Direct account like a good old-fashioned account-to-account transfer.

In this article we use Wise (formerly TransferWise) to fund your DF-Direct account, and for any other provider you can simply substitute the institution at each relevant step. DF-Direct allows users to make payments using a variety of methods, and Wise can be used as a cost-effective way to transfer money internationally. Here’s how you can do it:

Step 1: Set Up Your Wise Account

If you don't already have a Wise account, here’s how to create one:

  1. Visit Wise's website or download the Wise app.

  2. Sign up using your email address, Google account, or Facebook account.

  3. Verify your identity if required. Wise may ask for proof of identity (like a passport or driver's license) depending on your location and the amount of money you plan to transfer.

  4. Make sure you have a Wise account open in US Dollars, to facilitate transfers into DF-Direct.

Step 2: Get DF-Direct's Bank Details

To fund your DF-Direct account, you'll need the Wire or ACH details provided by DF-Direct. These details include the following and can be found on your DF-Direct platform:

  • Bank Name

  • Account Number

  • Routing Number

  • Beneficiary name [insert your name]

Ensure you have all the correct details that can be found on your DF-Direct platform to avoid any delays or issues with the transfer.

For your first transfer, we recommend that you send a small test transaction to ensure that the funds process correctly.

Step 3: Initiate the Transfer on Wise

  1. Log in to Wise and click on “Send Money.”

  2. Enter the amount you wish to send and select USD as the currency, as this is the only currency that DF-Direct currently supports.

  3. Enter DF-Direct's bank details that you obtained in Step 2.

  4. Always add a reference which includes your name and account number. This helps us to reconcile the transaction.

  5. Review the transfer details, including Wise’s fees and the expected delivery time.

  6. Complete the payment by following the prompts. Wise offers multiple payment methods like bank transfer, debit card, or credit card. Choose the one that suits you.

Step 4: Monitor the Transfer

Wise usually provides an estimated time for the transfer to reach the recipient. You can track the progress of your transfer in the Wise dashboard or app.

Step 5: Confirm with DF-Direct

You will likely see the funds appear in your DF-Direct account within a matter of days; however, don't hesitate to reach out to our team if you have any questions or issues.

By following these steps, you should be able to easily fund your DF-Direct account using Wise. Please feel free to get in touch with the team if you have any questions.

For the purpose of this article we have used Wise as the platform to send funds. The same methods can also be followed when using your US bank account or other digital account providers such as Revolut.

We are in no way affiliated with Wise, Revolut, or any other provider. They have simply been used as examples of providers available within the market.
